Nancy Pelosi Suggests Plan To Stop SCOTUS Nomination: ‘IMPEACH!’

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is not wasting any time, she is scheming already and it’s no joke. Pelosi is hinting that majority Democrats should vote to once again impeach President Donald Trump. All of this in an effort to stop him from replacing Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. As is Pelosi fashion, she noted that they “have arrows in our quiver”, leaving some to wonder what kind of corruption is hidden up her sleeve this time.

Former Clinton operative, George Stehanopoulos, a California lawmaker, asked Pelosi about this plan, and if it would work.

“Some have mentioned the possibility if they try to push through a nominee in a lame-duck session, that you and the House could move to impeach President Trump or Attorney General Barr as a way of stalling and preventing the Senate from acting on this nomination,” said Stephanopoulos, without citing any sources in particular.

“Well, we have our options. We have arrows in our quiver that I’m not about to discuss right now,” she responded.

Pressing, Stephanopoulos asked, “But to be clear, you’re not taking any arrows out of your quiver, you’re not ruling anything out?”

Her response was quite odd. After an awkward pause, she added:

“Good morning. Sunday morning. The, uh, we have a responsibility, we take an oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States,” she said, stammering.

“We have a responsibility to meet the needs of the American people, uh, that, uh, is, uh, when the, we weigh the equities of protecting our democracy requires us to use every arrow in our quiver,” she added.

Since the passing of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Democrats have been on a rampage to stop Trump from making his replacement nomination, even threatening more violence.

At this point in time, it is unclear if Pelosi’s bark is meaner than her bite on the topic of trying to impeach President Trump for a second time. Luckily, even if they were to move forward with this threat, they would have to achieve two-thirds support to impeach. With Senate still in GOP control, that would prove to be pretty difficult. If they are playing by the rules, which has never been their strong suite.

Impeachment expert, Tulane Law School Professor Rose Barber had this to say about it through a tweet:

“Impeachment wouldn’t slow the Senate down. There’s no requirement that an impeachment trial precludes all other Senate business or that a trial occupy much Senate time at all (Remember, Trump impeachment trial had no witnesses.),”

Unfortunately, these threats are not only coming from Pelosi. Other Democratic leaders are being so bold as to suggest that if they don’t get what they want, nothing is off the table when they retaliate.

During a conference call with Senate colleagues Saturday, Minority Leader Chuck Schumer is reported to have said, “Let me be clear: if Leader [Mitch] McConnell [R-Ky.] and Senate Republicans move forward with this, then nothing is off the table for next year. Nothing is off the table.”
